FAQ - Know what's important
How long can I drink my bottle of VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL?
Under optimal storage conditions (cool and dark), a closed bottle of VERPOORTEN can be enjoyed for around two years without significant changes in quality. The extra fine filtered alcohol contained in the liqueur helps it retain its high quality. Once it is opened, please use the bottle within six months if stored (standing) in the refrigerator.
What is the best way to store my bottle of VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL?
For the best taste, VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL should always be stored in a cool, dark place. Storing the bottle (standing) in the refrigerator is ideal, especially once it is open. Please avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight.
Why is there no expiration date (EXD) on the VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL bottle?
Under European law, no EXD is required for alcoholic spirits, including egg liqueur.
Can I drink VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL if I am allergic to gluten, soy products, dairy products or nuts?
Yes. You can drink our VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL even if you have any of these allergies. However, we can only provide this guarantee for our brand name products, made with our secret family recipe.
Can I drink VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL if I am sensitive to fructose?
VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL does not contain any fructose in its pure form. However, fructose may be released from the granulated sugar (sucrose) contained in the drink during digestion. Therefore, we advise discussing this issue with your nutritionist if you have any concerns.
What farming methods are used to produce the eggs in VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL?
For our VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL, we only use fresh grade A eggs from barn or free-range hens that enjoy a high degree of freedom of movement. We break all the eggs in-house to process them immediately into our branded product.
Why is my VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL thinner than usual?
VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL is traditionally manufactured without the use of any additives. Therefore, there may be slight fluctuations in consistency in some cases. In addition, a thinner product is often an indicator of freshness. A couple of days in the refrigerator will help the liqueur adjust to its typical creamy consistency.
I see small, orange spots in my bottle of VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL. Can I still drink the product?
The orange spots are parts of freshly processed grade A eggs. Since we use no additives when manufacturing VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL, this effect may occur in some cases. This does not indicate a quality problem, but is instead part of the natural variation in our product. Shake the bottle thoroughly to correct the issue.
My VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL has separated somewhat. Can I still drink the product?
Since we use no additives when manufacturing VERPOORTEN ORIGINAL, in some cases the emulsion may separate slightly. This does not indicate a quality problem, but is instead part of the natural variation in our product. Shake the bottle thoroughly to correct the issue.
